2022resolutions
Every new year unfolds with new expectations. When it comes to achieving goals,
many feel like starting out strong, making huge strides and gathering momentum
as they go along. Then get derailed and fall short of hope. Not always-but often
enough that majority can point to a handful of setbacks with disappointment and
regrets.
Nothing symbolizes this kind of frustration like new year’s resolutions. For
sure people have been making them since forever. Some make them every year and
most of us have made them in the past. In the list of new year’s resolution, you
may not lack either of the following:
Losing weight by eating healthier
Finding a better paying job
Being a better person
Spending less and savingmore
Deepening relationship with God
Spending more time with family andfriends
Exercising more often
Learning something new
Doing more good deedsfor others
Finding love
Finding a better job
As one goes through the resolutions you realize they revolve around health, wealth, relationship (both
personal and professional), intellectual and spiritual well-being. Therefore, a
conclusion can be made that every new year is just a far better plan. There are
people who say the best way to achieve annual set goals Is to set just one or
two, for others this is leaving too much on the table-probably for you too.
Whether you are an entrepreneur, executive, lawyer, salesperson, designer,
marketer, doctor, coach, mum or dad, husband or wife, or several of those things
that matters most, the number of goals to set is a personal choice. So why leave
so many hopes unfulfilled instead of scaling back, what we just need is a system
geared to work.
One intentional choice at a time should be the bottom line; simply making the
world around you better. For a moment, one would consider what truly breaking
through a year might look like. Imagine its twelve months from now and you’ve
accomplished your top goals in all of life’s domains. Think about health. How
does it feel to be in the best shape of your life? How does it feel to have the
stamina to play for hours with your kids? How does it feel to pursue your
favorite hobbies, and have energy to spare? Are you married? What is it like to
have deepened and enriched relationship, one which you can’t wait to spend time
together? Imagine your life full of intimacy, joy and friendship with someone
who shares your most important priorities, your most significant goals and gives
the encouragement and support you’ve dreamt about for so long.
Reflect for a moment on your spiritual life. Imagine you have an abiding sense
of something transcendent in your life, of a connection to a larger purpose and
a bigger story. Imagine waking up grateful and going to bed satisfied. How does
it feel to face life’s ups and down with peace in the deepest part of your soul?
regardless of what has happened in the past year(s) good or bad-it is truly
possible to make this your best year ever, even in the areas where you have
suffered serious setbacks.
Our lives are more than our families. Indeed, the next 12 months should be the
most meaningful and significant you’ve ever experienced in your life so far.
